1. About these terms
These Terms and Conditions govern the hire of equipment from Roamkit ABN: 71 738 326 117 (“Roamkit”, “we”, “us”). By placing a booking, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before booking.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
2. Hire agreement
When you complete a booking, you enter into a hire agreement with Roamkit for the equipment specified in your booking confirmation. The hire period begins on your nominated start date and ends on your nominated end date.
You are responsible for the equipment from the time of delivery until collection. The equipment remains the property of Roamkit at all times.
3. Payment
All hire fees are payable in full at the time of booking via our secure payment provider (Stripe). Prices are displayed in Australian dollars and include GST.
A delivery fee applies to all bookings. The delivery fee is shown at checkout and covers delivery to and collection from your nominated address.
4. Security bond
A refundable security bond of $100 is charged at the time of booking. It will be refunded to your original payment method within 5 business days of equipment collection, provided the equipment is returned without damage beyond fair wear and tear.
Examples of damage beyond fair wear and tear include: broken or bent frames, cracked plastic components, torn or stained fabric, missing safety straps or buckles, wheels or castors that no longer function, and any damage that renders the equipment unsafe or unusable.
If damage occurs, Roamkit reserves the right to retain part or all of the deposit to offset the cost of repair or replacement. You will be contacted with a full explanation and photos before any deduction is made. Where repair or replacement costs exceed $100, you will be charged the difference up to the replacement value of the item.
The deposit is shown as a separate line item at checkout and will appear on your payment statement alongside the hire total.
5. Optional damage waiver
An optional damage waiver is available at checkout for a small fee per item. If selected, the waiver covers the cost of accidental damage to hired equipment during normal use, meaning your $100 security bond will be returned in full even if accidental damage occurs.
The damage waiver does not cover:
- Loss or theft of equipment
- Intentional or reckless damage
- Damage caused by misuse or use outside the equipment’s intended purpose
- Damage caused by failure to follow manufacturer’s instructions
If you have selected the damage waiver and damage occurs, contact us and we will assess the damage. If the damage is accidental and covered by the waiver, your deposit will be refunded in full.
If the damage waiver was not selected and damage occurs, repair or replacement costs will be deducted from your deposit. Where costs exceed $100, you will be charged the difference up to the replacement value of the item.
6. Cancellations and refunds
Cancellations made more than 48 hours before your hire start date are eligible for a full refund, less Stripe processing fees of approximately 1.75%.
Cancellations made within 48 hours of your hire start date are non-refundable.
If Roamkit is unable to fulfil your booking due to circumstances within our control, you will receive a full refund including the delivery fee and security bond.
In the event Roamkit cannot fulfil a booking due to equipment unavailability, we will contact you as soon as possible and offer a full refund or alternative equipment where available.
7. Delivery and collection
We deliver to and collect from addresses within our service area. Delivery occurs at your preferred time — morning or afternoon — on your hire start date. Collection occurs on your hire end date. Your preferred delivery window will be confirmed prior to delivery.
You must ensure the equipment is accessible for collection at the agreed time. If collection cannot be completed due to access issues on your end, hire charges will continue to accrue at the daily rate until collection is completed, plus a late return fee of $15 per day per item.
We will contact you before applying any late fees.
8. Equipment condition, care, and safety
All equipment is delivered clean, sanitised, and checked for safety before each hire. You agree to:
- Use the equipment only for its intended purpose
- Follow manufacturer’s instructions and Australian safety standards at all times
- Not modify, repair, or attempt to repair the equipment
- Not sublet or lend the equipment to any third party
- Return the equipment in a reasonable condition (fair wear and tear excepted)
- Stop using the equipment immediately and contact us if you notice any fault, defect, or safety concern
Fair wear and tear means minor scuffs, surface marks, or gradual deterioration consistent with normal careful use. It does not include cracks, breaks, bent frames, torn fabric, missing parts, stains, or damage caused by misuse, overloading, or use in conditions the equipment is not designed for.
You are not required to clean equipment before collection — we handle cleaning between hires as standard. However, equipment returned with excessive soiling (including sand packed into mechanisms, food residue on harnesses, or bodily fluids) will incur a flat cleaning fee of $75. We will notify you before charging this fee.
If you notice a fault or safety concern, do not attempt to repair the equipment. Contact us at hello@roamkit.com.au and we will arrange a replacement where possible. Roamkit is not liable for any loss arising from equipment faults where we have not been notified.
9. Extending your hire
If you wish to extend your hire period, contact us at least 24 hours before your scheduled collection. Extensions are subject to availability and will be charged at the applicable nightly rate. We cannot guarantee availability during peak periods.
10. Liability
You are liable for any loss of or damage to the equipment beyond fair wear and tear during the hire period.
Roamkit’s liability to you is limited to the total amount paid for your hire. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages arising from use of the equipment.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
11. Service area
Our service area covers specific suburbs within the Shoalhaven region of NSW. Bookings outside our service area will be contacted to discuss options. We reserve the right to decline delivery outside our service area.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
